Yes, you are right, could not connect.

I suppose that I did not touch any service that is TCP/IP related. I can establish file sharing and the only protocol on mine laptop is TCP/IP.

Other programs are IBExpert, Database Workbench, my programs (over ODBC). Connection string are not different in any way, all connection strings are saved long time ago as they are now.

OS is Windows Vista Bussines on my laptop and there is various servers, some running linux and some running Windows XP. Firebird is from 2.0.4 to 2.1.3. FbClient.dll that I tried are 2.0.5 and 2.1.3.
For example DBWorkbench give me exact message:
ISC ERROR CODE:335544721
ISC ERROR MESSAGE:
Unable to complete network request to host "192.168.0.7".
Failed to establish a connection.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or (...)
