I am a Network Administrator, not a database programmer. I have a question about the programming of applications that use the Firebird database.
I have a server that the programmers use Firebird as the database. It seems that they were running their background programs in ring 0. They were loading the programs in the administrator / console mode. Is this normal for firebird? These programs were causing issues when they would error. Once they errored the error windows would keeping showing up until the server ran out of RAM and froze. I am now loading these programs in the normal administrator mode and nothing has crashed my server since I've done that.
Thanks
