What is the position now regarding doing a defrag of the disc holding the
Firebird .fdb files? This is FB 1.5 Classic on Windows.

Is it safe?
Is there any advantage in doing it?
Does it give advantage above doing a backup and restore?

Performance of the database is bad, particularly writing is very slow.
