I suppose if a large part of the community uses Newsgroups then that is a good reason to stay with Yahoo.
However newsgroups -- correct me if I'm wrong -- are becoming old technology. The only way that I know how to subscribe to newsgroups is using Outlook Express or a similar newsgroup client, and I find it very frustrating having to 'synchronise' and download my new messages.
All of my email is online-based with Gmail, so I can access new messages on any PC, but your newsgroup accounts do not use a web-based client (do they?) which means if you move to another PC you have to move your Outlook Express with you.
I wonder if you set up a poll how many people would vote Forum, and how many would vote Yahoo Groups.
