Hi
I tested my application that uses FB 2.5 embedded beta 2 in a clean Win 2000 SP2 install and to my surprise i could run it after i deleted msvcp80.dll from the app dir (this dll was not installed to any other directory either). I could also delete icuin30.dll and run the app.
I'd like to get as small installer as possible so:
1. Can someone explain in what cases can I safely omit these files (msvcp80.dll and icuin30.dll) from the installer?
2. What are the consequences of not deploying firebird.msg? No useful error messages?
3. When can i omit "fbintl.dll" and "fbintl.conf"? I suppose I need to connect with UTF8 charset and use no national collation, is that right?
4. Has anything about these issues changed between FB 2.1 and 2.5?
many thanks in advance!
