Is it usefull to get stats from system tables only? I can't see how, so the
historical behavior seems great and loginal (-s = include system tables too)

Anyway, changing historical behaviors don't seem wise (usually). You could
create a new option -so (system_only) to add a new vehavior without
"messing" with existing ones.
