Hello everybody, is there any documentation about compiling firebird 2.1.1 source code ?

I tried it using

./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/firebird

make
sudo make install

in Mandriva 2007 and it seems that firebird database service could not be started.
Unlike rpm file, firebird database service can be started and it works properly.
