Thanks for an extensive answer. And thanks to Paul Vinkenoog for
pointing out the documents and locations.

I'd also like to have Fb/2.1.2 installed on my pc at home. This is
Windows XP SP2 (I never dared to accept SP3!).

I won't be back at work until next week. I'll start by uninstalling
2.1.2 and see what we can do about MSVC8. Maybe we'll (for the time
being) install Fb/1.5.5 (which we have running on another server).
If I just install 1.5.5 (and don't bother with MSVC8) we could be a
good candidate for testing the next install kit?

I think we all want this install procedure for Fb/2.1.2 to work
smootly from start to finish (and be well documented). We'll get there!
