why not keep the database file in a RAM disk ... (I would do this only for testing)

Subject: [firebird-support] Keeping database file in OS cache

Hello.

We're running Firebird 2.1 on Windows, and we've come to the non-
surprising conclusion that our SQL questions go much faster if the
database file has entered Windows' system cache.

We need a fast answer, so the question is then; how do we get it into
the cache, and how do we keep it there?

We had an idea about sending random SQL questions (that are similar to
the real questions sent) - first a massive amount when the computer
boots up, then at regular intervals if the database is idle.

Is there a smarter way to accomplish the same thing?
