After some serious corruption problems earlier in the year I have had
243 days trouble free.

Post mortem analysis of the problems show that the corrupting servers
were all 64 bit machines with either dual or quad core processors.

The machine I am using now has a single core.

This leads me to believe that at least one of the following are true


#1 SUSE 10.2 has a problem with some or all multi core cpus.
#2 Firebird on some or all dual core machines is unstable.
#3 Firebird on SUSE 10.2 on some or all dual core machines is unstable.

As these older CPU's are not viable into the future and I can't find
any hardware recommendations anywhere on this site, my question is this;
Is anybody running Firebird on a multi core processor in a similar
Linux environment to me?

20GB database, 50 Windows - odbc users ~ 250000 transactions a day.
2 intranet & 2 internet servers running about 100000 transactions a day.

If so what distribution , kernel & version of Firebird are you using?

I expect that I am not the only one interested in this information.
