Hi Helen;Thank you for replying.
I created a small Firebird database to handle some work I am responsible for. Users log intoa data entry application that is a frontend to the database. Users were calling up saying thatthey couldn't log into the database. I posted the message everyone was getting.I was getting the same error message using gsec.As it turned out the hard drive on the computer running the database was full.I now know one cause of this error message. Are there other causes that I should be aware of?ThanksLin

gsec doesn't open user databases. It is a command-line utility designed to operate on a view of data in the security database (security2.fbk) .
