It was originally planned for v1.5, IIRC :-) But in fact it gets
postponed again and again, recently due to some unsolved future
compatibility complications (think about functions/procedures in Java,
procedures in C/Delphi, etc -- SQL functions are required to fit there
nicely). So, currently this is scheduled for v3.0.
