Subject Losing Connection at Client
Author Louis Werth
Hi all

One of our clients experienced some data corruption a view weeks ago, g-fix
managed to get the database usable but 15 records was marked as damaged.

They requested a reason for this.

The firebird log file reports a tremendous amount of :

INFOCARE (Client) Mon Apr 21 08:20:46 2008

INET/inet_error: connect errno = 10061

Sometimes, almost 20 of these errors will be raised within a second.

Some other errors:

xxx (Server) Mon Apr 07 13:28:47 2008

An exception occurred that does

not have a description. Exception number
E06D7363.

This exception will cause the Firebird server

to terminate abnormally.

xxx(Client) Mon Apr 07 14:50:10 2008

REMOTE INTERFACE/gds__detach: Unsuccesful detach from
database.

Uncommitted work may have been lost

xxx (Server) Fri Apr 04 08:43:50 2008

Database: C:\PROGRAM FILES\xxx\DB\xxx.FDB

deadlock

internal gds software consistency check (error during
savepoint backout (290))

My system also raise all errors received by client to file:

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:

Dynamic SQL Error

SQL error code = -504

Cursor unknown

Error: ISC ERROR CODE:335544332

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:

invalid transaction handle (expecting explicit transaction start)

Error: ISC ERROR CODE:335544726

ISC ERROR MESSAGE:

Error reading data from the connection.

My feeling is that something is very wrong on the network. The technical
team also reports that they lose Remote Desktop Connection often for no
reason, Mabe Firewall?

They are currently running Server Version: WI-V1.5.0.4306 Firebird 1.5 on
Win2003 Server(I will upgrade them to the latest firebird 1.5 later the
month)

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Regards ,

Louis
