There is no best distribution... if you ask 3 different guys that uses 3
distinct distributions each one you tell you to use the one he
chooses... I always use redhat family (Conectiva, RedHat, Fedora), but
that is just because I started with Conectiva, If I had started with
slackware probably I would stick to it or Debian, or any other distro...
