Subject Firebird testing tools for Windows
Author jejones1956
Greetings! I am new to this group, so please forgive me if this is a
repeat of previous questions and answers. I did some searching before
posting this, and did not find what I was looking for.

I work with Firebird 1.5, and plan to start working with Firebird 2
soon. I have several databases that I am responsible for, and that I
am frequently refactoring.

I have tried creating my own test suites for unit testing and
regression testing, with some success, but the overhead for this
activity is getting to be a burden. These tests are created and run
with IBExpert, using IBEBlock and other scripting capabilities.

What I would like to know is if other developers who use Firebird have
a favorite testing tool or harness that runs on Windows XP, preferably
with a GUI interface. Oh, and it needs to be free! The government
agency I work for has no money for this kind of "frivolous expenditure"...

I have taken a look at QMTest, which the Firebird developers
themselves use, but I have been mystified by its documentation, and
unable to get it to work.

Suggestions and recommendations are welcome, and I can provide further
information if it would be helpful.

Thanks!
