Hi Lester,
with Firebird 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 Classic on Linux (mostly Slackware)
without any problems. I've been using PHP+Linux+FB Classic since 2003
without any problems, and some machines have uptime of 300+ days (they
only reboot to switch hardware or when extended power failure occurs).
So, maybe it was just a problem with your setup, or with Linux
distribution you use.
