While I'm still concerned about these problems, I actually found a
completely different way in my program to deal with the problem,
without needing F_CMONTHLONG or anything like it. (Basically, I did the
date formatting in my program, rather than in SQL.) So, it's not urgent
for me, though others may encounter the same problem.
