I didnt notice anything else other than the following errors.

INET/inet_error: read errno = 104
INET/inet_error: receive in try_connect errno = 104

Is there anyway we can avoid these errors?
What sort of problem can these errors cause?

They are network errors. What kind of problems are you seeing, in Firebird terms?
