Hello all ,
i have some stuck Transactions since Thrusday, the oldest Active
Transaction is not advancing
Saturday and Sunday all Machines were turned off , only the server
was running , shouldnt dead connections be detected after 2 Hours ?
using the Monitoring Tables i can see some old processes from
thursday in mon$attachments, mon$transaction and mon$statements
all of them show mon_state =0 so inactive but one of them has the
OAT
trying to kill the statements with
delete from mon$statemente where mon$statement_id= number
seems to work , but commiting and redsiplaying the table
the statements are back
killing transactions or attachments is refused by the server
with 'operation not supported'
i tried it with ibexpert and an small delphi programm ,
same result
System
Windows 2003 Server
Firebird 2.1.1
ODS 11.1
Page Size 8192
Version WI-V6.3.1.17910 Firebird 2.1
Forced Writes 1
Programms are Delphi using the IBX Components
Oldest: 36646 Oldest Active :36647 Next :91652
connections from various clients XP Home or XP Pro
The Database was restored Wednesday
2 Questions
1)How can that happen or better how to avoid it
2)i am off site and i only have a VPN connection to the Database
and the persons there are no computer experts , thf i want to avoid restarting the
server if possible
