Hi,
Firstly, thanks for Firebird and thanks to Helen for her book on
Firebird (version 1.5 of Firebird but still a tremendous help and
worth every penny). I went through the book to try and determine how
to allow a user to change his/her password via an application but I
could not find any information regarding this. Reading through the
Release Notes I couldn't find any information either other than using
gsec and that security2.fdb is not accessible directly, even for
SYSDBA. Is there a way that a user can change his/her password
without using gsec via a stored procedure on the database? It just
seems easier to have the user change his/her password from within an
application than using the gsec utility. The password change is done
on a bi-weekly basis and should also happen the first time a user
accesses the system.
Many thanks in advance.
