No, that is not normal. I think you *may* want to *rename* fbembed.dll
to fbclient.dll. What programming language are you writing this in
(delphi, .NET, native C++, etc)?

Also, if using Firebird 2.x, did you copy the icu*.dll files as well?
What about the firebird.msg file?

We're going to need a lot more information in order to work out why it's
not working for you.
