That depends on the size of the table, I mean - if table is so big that
it cannot fit into cache completely.

Anyway, I did measure performance few years ago on Firebird 1.0 and the
difference was huge (in the particular case it was few hours vs 20
minutes IIRC). Perhaps the optimizer has improved since regarding this
particular case?
