This is the way to go, you just need to get the setting correct.

First, is the directory containing database.gdb a share from another
machine - this is not permitted

second, don't use the .gdb extension on windows

third I think the line should be
Database: 192.168.0.98:c:\z10765\database.gdb
or whatever the correct path is


For remote connection I tried two different ways. The first idea is to
connect to the Database directly. I think it could be Port 3050 -
sorry I don't have an nmap here. These was the settings:
Database: 192.168.0.98:\\z10765\database.gdb
Client: -
Database Account: SYSDBA
Password: [the top-secret default password ;-)]
Role: -
