Have you eliminated the possibility that something else is competing
for the server's service port? (default port 3050). Get suspicious
if there are multiple versions of Firebird (or Firebird + InterBase)
installed on the same host machine. If it's something you don't know
about, ask the site Admin who is connecting to that machine late on
Sunday night and to what it is expected to connect....
