Hi,
A client of ours has upgraded their network cards to 1000 mbps.
They claim that at 100 mbps it runs faster than if they set the speed to
1000 mbps.
Apparently the only settings they have changed is the speed of the
network card, nothing else.
Copying a file over the network is much faster on 1000 mbps, but opening
our Firebird application goes from 6 seconds to 20 seconds.
Are there any known issues like this? I can't find anything by googling.
Is it possible that this could be a Firebird problem, like they claim it
is? Doesn't make any sense that a faster network can run slower! They
have checked that there is nothing else running, at the time, which
could be causing the slowdown.
Kind Regards
