Hi All

I have an application that connects to a server over a LAN.
Microsoft Server 2003.


Ive got an Alias setup and can connect to the database (via my
application) providing I specify the correct path ie
ServerName:MyAlias

however if Ive incorrectly put the wrong path in
ie ServerName:WrongAlias

I can no longer connect to it even when I provide the correct path.

The only way I can reconnect is to stop the Firebird server then
restart it(on the server). Its as though its tripped up the Firebird
Server.

The Firebird setup is the default and the version is 1.5.0.4288


I tested the same procedures on one PC which was directly connected
to another (via a cross over network cable) and I didnt need to
restart the Firebird Server even when I incorrectly put the wrong
path in
ie ServerName:WrongAlias


Any ideas
