I have a requirement where my table needs around 2000 to 3000
coloums . Is it advisable to create such a table in firebird . Is
there any thumbrule on number of columns? Since ours is a conversion
project from paradox and since paradox had a coloum limitation of
255 . We had to design in such a way that the records were stored row
wise at the cost of speed . Now since we are using Fb we are planning
to keep all the records coloum wise , since such a structuring
improves the application speed performance (and also the db size will
be reduced) .
