Subject 1.5.3 on linux amd64

Just a general inquiry. Are there know security or stability issues with
Firebird 1.5.3, CS/SS running on amd64 Linux?

Now I know 1.5.4 has been released. But I have been running 1.5.3 on
Gentoo Linux amd64 for quite some time on production systems with no
issues. However building it has been an issue, presently I can't build
2.0 on amd64 or x86. But that's a story for another day. Not sure about
1.5.4 atm.

A user filed this bug which caused us to mark Firebird 1.5.3, as
unstable on amd64. When it was stable for quite some time. So I am
trying to confirm the validity of the un-stabilization. If it's
justified or not.

Gentoo Bug

Which the users seems to reference a thread on sf -dev ml.
https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=31319650

My take after reading that thread, it's referring to bugs with the build
system. Now we are not using upstream binaries, and any build time
issues with Fb 1.5.3 have been addressed. Since I have been building and
installing it for quite some time on Gentoo Linux both amd64 and x86,
stable and unstable.

Can someone confirm if there are known issues with 1.5.3 on amd64, and
if it's not recommended to use in production.

Thank you
