I've moved most of the stuff onto a Linux server now, but I'm getting somewhat
annoyed at the slow response to many of the actions. The latest problem is
quite simple to demonstrate, as I have an update stored procedure which just
runs on the server. I had loaded this up to run via FlameRobin which reports
it takes 4.5 hours, but the actual process only ran for 1.5 hours. Running the
same process via FlameRobin on windows gives 2 hours with 1.75 hours in
fbserver.exe.
First question - Should I switch the Linux machine to SuperServer? Will that
make a difference?
Second question - In classic mode how do I increase the process priority to
make the total time taken closer to the process time on Linux.
I'm still wondering if I am doing the right thing running Firebird on Linux. I
have yet to see anything that encourages me to think that the results are
worth the effort or if I should just cut my losses and throw even more money
down the bottomless pit of Microshit :(
