Off-topic here but,

most of this "issues" (on 'long transactions') are gone just by attaching an
TDataSetProvider and TClientDataSet to your IBQuerys -- course if never used
before it's worth some reading, there's planty of good docs out there on how
to do it without 'new issues' =)
