I'm sorry Lester, but I had to reply, so that some newcomers to Firebird
don't misinterpret your message, esp. since it was written in ALL
CAPS. Just because there is something wrong with your setup and you
haven't find a way to fix it, doesn't mean that Firebird should not be
used on Linux.

I wish I could help you solve it, but I've never seem a problem like
that and I'm currently maintaining about 30 FB servers on Linux. Maybe
you are using some desktop/testing/beta distribution like Fedora or
something like that - and as any beta software it is expected to have
glitches. So, what is your distro?
