Joke aside, this has already been discussed on FR list. It is actually a
useful feature: For example, you might have a database on another
machine located in C:\some\very\long\path.fdb, and C: is also shared as
Z: on machine with FlameRobin. Now, instead of having to type all that,
you can simply browse the Z: disk, click Open, and then change Z: into
C: and have the complete path.

That being said, AFAIK it is trivial to disable the shared drives (just
a flag in file dialog function), but I guess users using this 'feature'
would then complain. However, feel free to discuss this in further on
FlameRobin mailing list:
