Hi Helen,
behaviour to XP. If I fire up a command window under xp then it all
works ok. Firing it up under Vista is when I get the problem (which the
localhost thing solves). I'm not sure that vmware really changes much -
I'm just running Vista within a virtual machine, logged into vista on
the virtual machine as an administrator, turned off the user account
control stuff.
It's interesting - I'm getting a similar problem within Delphi 6 and
dbExpress (under Vista). The database connection string also needs to
be 'localhost:c:\rising3.fdb' instead of just 'c:\rising3.fdb'.
