We are running Firebird Classic 1.53 on a dual CPU opteron 252 with 16
Gb ram and SuSE Linux 10.1. Typical usage is about 1 million
transactions a day using about 150-200 connections at a time (between
8am and 8pm) with the server mostly at 30-40% of capacity.
We are looking to upgrade our hardware and need to choose between
AMD64 and EMT64. Does anyone know whether there might be a significant
performance difference between AMD64 and Intel EMT64 when running
Firebird Classic 1.53? In particular, AMD64 has the Non-Uniform Memory
Architecture (NUMA) and Intel does not.
Thanks.
