I don't know if any members of this forum are part of the Firebird
team, but I would like to give them credit for the latest release 2
which I have just installed. It is stable, and the very very much
anticipated DERIVED TABLES work very well. They have saved me, since I
dont need to resort to complex workarounds. I needed a union with a
case statement in each part, and an 'order by' for the whole union. To
workaround this, I had to drop and create a view with a different name
per session, with dubious results each time. Once the derived tables
came into place all this is history. I placed a big part of the
application logic to a complex 'select' statement with two derived
tables in it, that is executed at the server reliably. Keep up the
good work!
