Nick,
Can you attach to the waiting client with a
debugger and find out where it's sitting? If
it's waiting for a lock, then the IPC isn't working
and we need to figure out why.
The behavior is exactly like a system that can't
communicate between clients. I know your setup
should work, at least with my understanding of
the way Firebird 1.5.1 works on Fedora. Still,
hearing hoof beats, I think horse rather than
trying to imagine how a giraffe got in ...
