How it should actually work is that the installer should offer you a
dedicated root directory, certainly not your Fb 1.5 installation
directory. It is not a Good Thing to attempt to install Fb 2.0 over
the top of Fb 1.5.

But you can go ahead yourself and specify your own installation
directory. The installer will create it if it doesn't exist.

I've posted a note into the Tracker.

If you have any more issues with the Fb 2.0 betas, would you please
post your message to firebird-devel ? Still, I suppose if you
abandoned the Fb 2.0 beta install, you could be forgiven for not
getting as far as reading the release notes, which specifically ask
you not to post beta issues in the support list...
