I suggest you try wxPython as well. It's in Python, a wrapper around
Gtk, and you have wxGlade, wxFormBuilder, Boa and few other GUI builders
suitable for the job.

The reason is that you can simply port your application to Windows or
MacOSX later, just by tweaking the makefiles and re-compiling, with
little-or-none changes to the source code.
