Hi,
Can some one please shed some light on a connection problem I am having.
I have recently converted from using Interbase 6 to Firebird and followed all the
recommended procedures of uninstalling Interbase etc.
I find that for larger databases the initial connection seems to be quite quick then
some process starts up and I wait and wait for up to 10mins before the Server is ready to
process my requests. This happens whether I use my Delphi program or IBOConsole.
Once I have done this for the first time I can disconnect and reconnect rapidly as much as I like. However
if I leave the PC for a while and then attempt to reconnect the slow process starts again.
What is actually happening and can I prevent it?
Is it possibly a hangover from Interbase being previously installed?
