Is that the complete message? Is there also an "unknwon Win32 error"
following?

Is there a local firewall running on that server? Or do you use
another port than 3050 on the client or server? Is the server in the
same local area network as the client or is it in another network and
the two networks are separated by a router/gateway/firewall? Can you
connect to the database directly from the server?
