Thanks for the quick reply,

At the backup site (the network drive) is more than 100GB left and even
on the FB server side is more than 20GB left, that should be enough to
restore a 18GB database file (Am I wrong here ?).
I still have the working FDB file and will retry the backup again to see
if I can reproduce the problem.
If this fails at least it should be possible to make a Datapump (could
take while). I also will check the IBSurgeon Tools (thanks for the link
Alexey, I will come back to you if all other options fail ;-))
