Subject Re: Linux file system effect on Firebird
Author Salim Naufal
Hi Rick,

We are using Firebird C/S on Suse 9.1, 9.2, and 9.3 in conjunction
with the Reiserfs. We first encountered slowness during the initial
connection server when connecting from Windows XP clients. You can
turn off the Windows XP firewall or add the IP addresses to the
/etc/hosts file on linux.
As far as the performance is concerned. There was no slowdown at all
as a result of the Reiserfs.

Hope that helps

Salim
