Hi
Yesterday we moved our customer with memory problems to another server.
A new one.
This new server is running FB 1.5.3 SS.
The server is:
Intel 5110 dual core 1.6
2Gb ECC RAM
Emulex HBA LPe1150L-F4 controller
DB Placed on.
Fujitsu Siemens SX80 storage
OS:
Windows 2003 x32 standard R2.
The FB log has this entrys
DBSRV05 (Server) Wed Dec 20 19:24:45 2006
Database: E:\DB\KAUFMANN\OCCLICENS.FDB
Allocated 1078 page buffers of 2048 requested
DBSRV05 (Server) Wed Dec 20 19:24:45 2006
Database: E:\DB\KAUFMANN\OCCLICENS.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (cannot start thread)
DBSRV05 (Server) Wed Dec 20 19:26:39 2006
Database: E:\DB\KAUFMANN\OCCLICENS.FDB
internal gds software consistency check (cannot start thread)
At this time, for some 10 minutes noone was able to connect to the DB.
Those already connected had no problem.
Finally we stopped the FB service and started it again.
Everything work thereafter.
The are the exact same problems we had with the 64 Bit OS.
Is it still a problem we FB gets exhausted all of the memory it can use ?
And switching to CS is the only solution (or wait for the FB 2 64 Bit
version) ?
The CS requires some rethinking of our program, so I would like to
avoid that ...
Regards
Michael
