Hi all,
First of all, let me apologize about the fact that I'm completely
ignorant of Firebird, and that I'm about to ask a question on an
ancient version. HP's Rack & Power Manager, which is a free product
they provide to monitor and manage UPS devices, uses Firebird 1.0.0.
Every day since a recent reboot, The Firebird service shuts itself
down at 3 am and then restarts. When this happens, all the UPS's
disconnect and the reconnect, and notifications are sent out.
There's not error in the interbase.log file; instead this is what it logs:
ISUTILITY (Client) Mon Nov 20 03:00:06 2006
E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe:
normal shutdown
ISUTILITY (Client) Mon Nov 20 03:00:11 2006
Guardian starting: E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power
Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe
ISUTILITY (Client) Tue Nov 21 03:00:07 2006
E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe:
normal shutdown
ISUTILITY (Client) Tue Nov 21 03:00:12 2006
Guardian starting: E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power
Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe
ISUTILITY (Server) Wed Nov 22 03:00:25 2006
Shutting down the Firebird service with 1 active connection(s) to 1
database(s)
ISUTILITY (Server) Wed Nov 22 03:00:25 2006
The database E:\PROGRA~1\HP\RACKAN~1\DEVICE~1.GDB was being accessed
when the server was shutdown
ISUTILITY (Client) Wed Nov 22 03:00:25 2006
E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe:
normal shutdown
ISUTILITY (Client) Wed Nov 22 03:05:30 2006
Guardian starting: E:\Program Files\HP\Rack and Power
Manager\Firebird\bin\ibserver.exe
... and so on.
HP is completely clueless why this happens. Can anyone on this list
point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
- Steve
