Darn.

I grabbed the wrong shortcut when I posted this. I definitely
installed the 1.5.3 from
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/firebird/Firebird-1.5.3.4870-0-Win3
2.exe?download.

I just tried installing it again, with the same results.
