The IBX that comes with Delphi 5 does NOT work at all. Delphi 5 was
released in 1999, before IB 6 and long before Firebird. Besides, at
that point, it was an early beta and was fraught with bugs and
non-implemented things.

IBX was later fixed up (to some extent). The developer who did that
(Jeff Overcash) made a Delphi 5 binary version available at the
Borland Developer Network site - if you plan to test IBX, go here for
the binary IBX 4.52 update kit:
http://info.borland.com/devsupport/interbase/ibx_updates.html

Make sure you download and read the Readme first. You must have at
least the Delphi 5 update pack 1 (D5EntUpdate.exe) already installed
for the corrected IBX to install. (AFAIR, in Delphi 5, IBX works
only with the Enterprise edition...)
