I have stated converting databases from IB5.6 to FB1.5. The slightly
tighter security in FB is raising some questions.
In IB5.6 I have two users SYSDBA and PAUL. I cant remember who I was logged
in as when the databases where first created but all normal operations
including backup and restore have been carried out as PAUL. There are no
roles or grants or anything relating to permissions.
In one database that was converted by backups and restores through FB1.03 to
FB1.5 everything worked fine except all but one of the views had no access
permission for PAUL. I had to 'grant all on aview to PAUL' then it worked.
Some databases could be backed up by PAUL but others had to be SYSDBA. (I
didn't do these backups/restores so I cant guarantee the login ID for the
various stages)
Is there an easy way to tell who is Owner?
Can I change it - if so how?
I have read how I can 'grant all on anobject to USER' - is there a syntax
for granting all on everything?
Regards
Paul
