I ran gstat on the database and it suggests that the db is not open or running although the fbguard service is running. I killed anything relating to firebird in the process list and re-ran fbguard& , then run gstat and the db then says open for business.
I would prefer that after starting my fedora server that I didn't have to go through this startup routine. I have another fedora core 4 server running fb 1.02 which starts up on reboot and opens the db automatically.
Not a huge problem but we are testing 1.5 in order of porting from 1.2 as there seems to be speed advantages in upgrading.

No idea, doesn't make sense. What actually happens "When the sever boots I
am unable to login to my db using ibexpert." ???
