In fact, in my personal experience is was a tank.
Although at the time, as a project admin, I agreed with the
'experimental' label, in hindsight it should really have been called
'initial'.
In fact, the Classic engine was the only version of Interbase which was
available. The SuperServer engine has introduced with v5.0 and then the
Classic was deprecated as of v6.0 (or was it 5.5?).
Firebird v.15 was the first time that the build was 'revived'. It has
proved to be just as reliable as the SuperServer build and for some uses
a better choice of engine.
