There is no need for that. The uninstaller preserves the .conf files, the
security database and the log file and the installer respects them if
available.

The Fb 1.5 installer actually renames the firebird.conf file if found and
creates a new default version. Fb 2.0 keeps the existing firebird.conf
file if one is found and installs a copy of the default for reference.
This latter behaviour is safer when upgrading as it preserves any site
specific security settings, but of course the downside is that an upgrade
will miss new config settings.
